This Chevy Camaro 1LT may not hit the high notes that its ZL1 stablemate can but in the hands of its Cordon Bleu chef and owner, Den, it’s still a juicy slice of that American dream!
Our Filipino-born cover boy is pictured here with some interesting face-gear on, we’re not sure why. Maybe the ladies love a bit of Darth Vader-style role play after hours in Las Vegas (where Den serves up his 5-star grub). Working at the Venetian and Palazzo hotels certainly means that he’s earned his downtime at the end of a shift. Once out of the high-pressured environment of the kitchen, Den can often be found cruising down the famous strip in his Chevy Camaro. His 1LT model came off the production line in 2013 with the new MyLink touchscreen audio system and optional MyLink-based GPS navigation. It clearly didn’t catch his eye for its equipment levels nor its (pokey) rear seats and barely accessible boot though. The truth is it that it looks meaty and if you’re a fan of muscle cars then meaty is what you’ll be after.
Adding to its already desirable looks, Den Delos Santos (could have been an awesome stage name) added a Phantom hidden headlights mesh grille which gives the 1LT some breaking bad attitude. An RK Sport front bumper lip then adds a further dimension to this base-level Chevy. The side skirts are actually termed ‘Extreme Dimension’ items and they provide a well-honed ripple on the lower edge of its bodywork. From this well-composed three quarter angle shot we can also fully appreciate those DropStar 643b Staggered 22-inch rims. As far as Den was concerned those massive haunches that come as standard, left little to be desired from the back-end, well, apart from a Street Legal Performance (SLP) loudmouth Axelback exhaust which gives ‘bass’ a whole new meaning.
Being a relatively affordable sports car with engaging handing and decent ride quality, this 2013 Chevy Camaro 1LT has made life pretty peachy for Den. For now its reliability has been just fine and so have the fuel costs and even in 323hp guise the 3.6-litre direct injection V6 has a decent amount of shove.
Even Den’s model friend (pictured here) who is also qualified in finance and business also agrees that it’s a money savvy buy – and who can argue with her figures!
