This Romeo Ferraris Cinquone model is based around the Fiat 500 Abarth and features a full widebody kit which includes a new bonnet,
re-designed bumpers, revised side skirts, a centre-mounted exhaust and
unique 18-inch alloys.
Go for the add-on carbon package and you get the mirror caps, pillar covers and a rear spoiler all made out of this lightweight material.
The next grade up gets you the Leggero package which adds a carbon fibre bonnet and tailgate to the list of aftermarket goodies. These modifications take the little city car’s weight down to 970 kg (2,138 lbs), which is a reduction of 60 kg (132 lbs) compared to the standard model.
Inside the cabin the Romeo Ferraris model treats you to Recaro sports seats, Alcantara or leather upholstery, carbon fibre trim and a roll bar.
When it comes to performance there are three spec levels to choose from. First up is the Cinquone which is powered by a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine with 160 PS (117 kW) and 230 Nm (169 lb-ft) of torque. This entry-level engine is paired up with a five-speed manual transmission which allows for a zero to sixty-two acceleration time of 7.4 seconds. It then maxes out at 131mph (211 km/h).
If you want a little extra thrust there’s the Cinquone S model which produces 210 PS (154 kW) and 310 Nm (228 lb-ft) of torque. This power unit drops the zero to sixty-two acceleration time to 5.7 seconds, while the top speed is 144 mph (232 km/h).
The Daddy of the pack is the Cinquone Corsa which throws out 248 PS (182 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. Sprinting away from the traffic lights and up to dual carriageway speed takes just 5.5 seconds and where traffic laws allow you can push it up to and perhaps beyond 149 mph.
If this all sounds a bit too appealing for a city car then the price will bring you back down to earth – the entry-level hatchback starts from €47,762, which rises to €69,220 for the Cinquone Corsa Cabrio.
